FATAL FALL OVER CLIFF
DEATH IN LONELY LOCALITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, Nov. 25. Yesterday, near Aukopae, about fifteen miles down the Wanganui 1 River, Harry Roberts fell over a cliff and received fatal injuries. He was employed by the Public Works Department and was engaged in cutting scrub preparatory to road formation. Roberts fell some 70 feet. A stretcher was made by his mates and lie was carried over rough country for five miles, but expired before medical attention arrived.
At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.
