BAKERS’ NIGHT WORK

DISPUTE WITH EMPLOYERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland. Nov. 27. The Dominion bakers and pastrycooks’ dispute has just been heard by the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. P. Hally. The questions of hours, starting time and wages were exhaustively discussed without arriving at a conclusion. The uniform starting hour was the most contentious item, employers wanting freedom to engage night workers when required and employees strenuously opposing the night work clauses. The main questions were accordingly passed on to the. Arbitration Court for settlement.
