DRUNKEN MOTOR-CYCLIST
YOUNG MAN’S LICENSE SUSPENDED A young man named Eugene Amor, who pleaded guilty to having been drunk while in charge of a motor-cycle, appeared before Mr. ,R. W. Tate, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at New Plymouth yesterday and had hie license suspended for the current year and was disqualified from holding a license for twelve months from the present date. “People who ride motor-cycles and drive cars have got to remember that drink and motor traffic do not mix, and a man who uses either car or motorcycle has got to refrain,” said the magistrate. He pointed out to the defendant that lie had power to cancel his license entirely, fine him heavily, or send him to gaol. Defendant was seen by Constable Small on Thursday afternoon in King Street attempting to start his cycle, which fell on top of him. He was a farm hand at Tarurutangi and had used the cycle for about a month to travel to and from town. The police knew nothing against him. Defendant, was also ordered to pay 7s costs.
