Association’s forty-third annual show and motor gymkhana opened in fine weather yesterday with a. record first day attendance of the general public, ahd an excellent display of aristocrats of the stock world of Taranaki. The progress made by the show of recent years was amply demonstrated in the high standard of stock drawn from far and near, while the fact that the institution serves as a link between townspeople and farmers made the picturesque grounds a common meeting place. The day was fine and sunny and the air of holiday-making that pervaded the massed grandstand during the afternoon’s activities indicated that everyone was more than satisfied with the excellent programme arranged by the executive.
