APPEAL IN CAVENETT CAST

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland. Nov. 23.

Mr. Justice Adams heard an appeal from the decision of Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. in the ease of William George Cavenett, which was heard last September, when Cavenett was sentenced to two months in gaol on one charge of theft and a month on the second charge. The magistrate’s decision on the second charge was quashed, and the case to-day concerned the sentence of two months. His Honour reduced this sentence to one month.
