BURGLARIES ADMITTED
“WENT BROKE AT THE RACES.” By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 23. “I committed the offences because I wanted money. I went broke at the races and was out of work.” This explanation was made to the police by Leonard Wright, aged 27, who was charged to-day with three burglaries in the suburbs. The accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence.
