WELLINGTON AUTHORITY SUED.

By Telegraph.—Press Wellington, Last Night.

Before Mr. Justice Alpers, John Francis P. Yeatman is claiming £667 from the Education Board, stating that he had been instructed to audit accounts involving 250 schools. The won- took him 706 J hours and the board had paid him £75 on account. He claimed the balance of £667 at the rate of £7 7s per day of seven hours.

The defence is that plaintiff applied for work and was engaged at a reasonable sum to be determined by the chairman of the board, but not to exceed £75, the amount paid for audit in the previous year.

Judgment was given for defendants, with costs pn the lower scale.
