A position of to all woolgrowers throughout New Zealand has arisen in a large woolshed in the Wairau Valley. Owing to wet weather the sheep were considered by several of the shearers to be wet. The owner and the woolelasser as well as several of the shearers, considered the sheep dry enough for shearing. Complaint has been lodged with the Shearers’ Union, of certain men having been discharged, and it has been stated through the official organ of the union, the New Zealand Worker, that the matter has been taken up and litigation will follow. The outcome is looked forward to with interest.
