Mr. E.. Forster, of the Bank of New Zealand, Eltham, has been transferred to the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland.

Mr. A. H. Glasgow, manager of the Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., Christchurch, is on a visit to New Plymouth. A Bucharest message reports the death of M. Constant Inesco. the Rumanian Liberal leader.

Au Auckland message says that William Reeves died on Saturday morning, aged 101 years. He helped to form the garden at the Crystal Palace, London, nearly SO years ago. The death occurred at Christchurch on Saturday of Mr’. Alexander Ferguson, who was for 32 years manager of the National Bank of Now Zealand at Christchurch.—Press Association.

The death has occurred of Mr. Alfred E. Verry, a resident of Kpnini and for many years president of the A. and P. Society, states a Press Association message from Pahiatna. He was prominently connected with farming and other institutions. He had been an inmate of a private hospital for the past eight weeks. He was 55 years of age.

Captain W. H. Cottrell, C.M.G.. 0.8. E.. R.N.V.R., passed away at Wellington on November 18 in a private nursing home, after a short illness. The late Captain Cottrell served in the Gallipoli campaign, and was the recipient of a number of foreign decorations, including the Legion d’Honneur. Captain Cottrell was a visitor to New Zealand, being his second within the past two years for the purpose of being near his daughter, Mrs. M. L. A. Axworthy.

The death has occurred of the Rev. H. H. B. Winsbury White, at the age of 39 years. The deceased was one of the most popular padres at Trentham Camp and Featherston during and after the war. and was the last chaplain to be demobilised. Prior to that he was viear of the Blenheim parish. After his camp service he was appointed to the parochial district of Waikouaiti. For some months prior to his death he was working in the social service department of the Anglican Church in Dunedin. He is survived by a wife and one child.

The death occurred on Thursday of Mr. Arthur Pearson Friend, of Parnell, who was for many years prominent in public affairs in Auckland. Mr. Friend was born at Kingsbridge, England, in 1856. From 1883 to 1889 he was secretary of a large electrical company in London. Arriving in Melbourne in 1899, he joined the staff of L. Stevenson and Sons, Ltd., of Flinders Lane. Three years later he was selected by Sir F. Sargood to fill the position of secretary to the Kauri Timber Co., in Auckland, and in 1898 he established an accountancy business. A year later he was appointed district manager for the Oeean Accident Guarantee Corporation. Mr. Friend is survived by a widow and daughter.
