COMING ROYAL TOUR.
THE DUOHESS’ BOUDOIR. . . London, Noy. 9. “Ordinary blue carpets may suit sailors, but they do not match my furniture,” said the Duchess of York, who is applying her own ideas in the after cabin of H.M.S. Renown, which she has selected as her boudour. The walls have been painted ivory white, the carpets are mole-coloured, the curtains are of blue” cretonne and the chair coverings of chintz. The ordinary naval furniture has been supplemented by; settees, chairs and tables from the Royal yacht Victoria and Albert. The : walls are decorated with photographs of the baby daughter of the Duke and Duchess and the King and Queen, and f riends. In the fore-cabin, which will be the dining room, the furniture is. unchanged, beyond the addition of rugs. The officers’ cabins will accommodate the suites. - Additions are: being built, and three quick-firing, guns have been ' removed from one cabin to the roofs in order to create a short promenade deck, on which the Duke and Duchess will receive visitors. Journalists travelling on the ship will be housed on the bridge. The Renown has been painted a pearlgrey, which in the sunlight turns to ■ silver.
