Those invited were" the Misses Douglas (2), Buist, Powdrell, Washer (2), Wills and Goodson (2). A competition was held and was won by Miss K. Goodson. < # * * At the function in the Savoy on Tuesday evening, when the Hawera Male Choir and local people entertained the members of the Wanganui Choir, Miss D. Joll was made the recipient of a life member’s token-of the Hawera Society, and also a cheque in appreciation of her valued services rendered to the society.
