Director of the Geological Survey in reference to the South Australian oil wells analysis, the company’s field superintendent. after consultation with the directors, has issued a statement, in which he, says: “In refutation of reports recently circulated as to the absence of mineral oil .in our bore at Caroline, T definitely state that I have proved the existence of crude petroleum in the bore. Its presence has been demonstrated to many people, including visiting directors. But for unexpected intrusion of water in the bore, wo would before this have been producers of crude oil on, probably, a commercial scale. This is my definite opinion as a petroleum engineer.
