PORTER ADMITS THEFT

LARGE SUM TAKEN FROM SAFE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 17. Horace Clifford Allan, porter at the Carlton Hotel, aged 26, in the Magistrate’s Court admitted the theft of £ll2 from the licensee, Leslie James Traill. Evidence was given that the money was taken from the safe over a period of some months. It is alleged that £B6O is missing. Accused was committed foi sentence.
