ABSENCE OF CRIME
GISBORNE CONGRATULATED.

When the Supreme Court opened this morning Mr. Justice Ostler was presented by the clerk with a pair of white gloves, this being the first occasion for 12 years on which there was an entire absence of criminal business. His Honour congratulated the district on the absence of crime, and hoped such a situation would continue indefinitely.
