The Empire Marketing Board ! as offered £2OOO for five years for research by the Cawthron Institute into New Zealand noxious weeds, especially blackberry. The offer is conditional on annual contributions of £lOOO each by the New Zealand Government and the Cawthron Institute. The offer has been accepted, conditionally on the work being carried out by Professor Tillyard and conducted under the approval of the New Zealand Scientific Research Council. The board has further offered £2OOO annually for two years’ research in connection with the mineral contents of New Zealand pastures, the experiment* to be conducted by the New Zealand Government and the Cawthron Institute and subject to contributions froi them as above. This offer is under discussion bv the New Zealand authorities.
