SCOW DRIFTS ASHORE
VESSEL DRAGS ANCHOR. (fly Wire—Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. During the boisterous westerly weather on Saturday the Northern Company’* auxiliary seoW Pono dragged her anchors at Kiritea, near Coromandel, and drifted ashore. At the time of the accident the Pono was loading vool from the beach by means of boats. This morning Captain Hammond, the manager of the Northern Company, left Auckland in the steamer Gael with men with tackle to refloat the stranded vessel. The extent of the damage to the Pono is not reported.
