THE ROMANCE OF TIMBER
A FOREST OF RIMU ON THE KAFTAKES. The romance of timber makes decidedly interesting reading. Pages of a newspaper might be devoted to it, and then the subject would not be exhausted, nor one half the story ever told. Rirnu particularly makes profitable investigation to those fond of delving into the why and the wherefore of things, and in our own province is a wonderful forest of rimu developed on the Kaitake ranges. The timber grown is of exceptionally high grade, and the beautiful wood when worked up makes most desirable Joinery Furniture. It is a class of timber that affords any firm dealing with it the greatest satisfaction, more especially as purchasers never have tr fault to find with it, either in the niatter of endurance, or its everlasting bright appearance. It is in connection with this class of timber that the New Plymouth Sash and Door Company offers an excellent service, and one that commands the entire satisfaction of all clients. Its supplies of mountain rimu are obtained from its own bush on the Kaitake Ranges, and milled under the very best and most economical conditions.
The huge logs of this superfine timber are converted into joinery, etc., by the very latest and most modern machinery, and it is because of these facts that the New Plymouth Sash and Door Company can render the community of home builders and furnishers such a wonderful service.
An expert wood-turner has lately been added to the joinery factory staff, and a very attractive display of his work in the shape of bowls, serviette rings, nut bowls, egg cups, croquet mallets, etc., suitable for Christmas presents, can -be seen in the Gill Street store windows. This branch of the business has proved very successful. Tip; Company has gradually expanded its various activities, and with its hardware store, can supply every requisite in that direction. Corrugated iron, downpipe, spouting, etc., arc also included in the New Plymouth Sash and Door's offerings to the community, and as the very lowest rates are charged, the business of this popular firm should show further development during the next twelve months. Probably no Company or trading concern in Taranaki can show a bigger expansion than the New Plymouth Sash and Door Company, and this is entirely due to the high grade service given in all departments.*
