CARGOES MARKET. Received Dec 29, 9.30 p.m. Loudon. Dec. 28. Cargoes have firmed 3d to 6d in sympathy with America. Actual sales are slow; 4800 tons per Sierra Leone, loading for Western Australia, 535, Montesantos (7800 tons) 52s 3d. Parcels are firm and advanced 3d. LONDON MARKETS. Received Dec. 2.9, 9.30 p.m. London, Dec. 28. A holiday tone prevails in spot trade, with little business, and all quotations are nominally unchanged. Sugar (granulated) 50s AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, Dec. 29. Barley.—English, 4s 4d to 4s sd: Cape, 2s 9d to 2s lid. Oats, 2s 7d to 2s 7 y g d. Potatoes, £8 to £9 10s. Onions, £9 15s to £lO.

The New Zealnad Meat Producers’ Board list of weekly prices of fat stock for export, giving the prices being offered on December 28, is: Wanganui.—Wethers, 56 lb and under, 5%d per lb; 57 lb, 5y 2 d; 65 lb to 72 lb, sV<d; 73 •b and over sd; second quality, sd: ewes, all weights, 4%d; prime woolly lambs, 42 lb and under, 9%d: prime ox beef, 20s per 100 lb: cow beef, 15s per 100 lb. The difference in the return to the grower oetween kidneys left in lambs and kidneys taken out is equal to l-4d to 3-8 d per lb. That is, a grower getting lOd per lb with kidneys left in is getting equal to to 11 3-Bd, as compared with kidneys taken out. NEW ZEALAND RIVER PLATE COMPANY. Auckland, Dec. 29. Cabled advice states that the net profit of the New Zealand River Plate Company for the year ended October 31 is £86,407. The directors recommend that £lO,OOO be carried to the reserve, and- a dividend for the half year of 7 per cent, per annum, less tax of 5s in the £, absorbing £24,500, and that £27,407 be carried forward, THE PIG MARKET. Few pigs were penned at Newton King, Ltd.’s, New Plymouth haymarket yesterday. Weaners to slips made from 15s to 20s, and porkers 45s and 465.
