ENGLAND v. NEW ZEALAND. FIKST TEST BEGINS TO-DAy GOOD WEATHER PROSPECTS. ? By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Wellington, Last Night. The weather prospects are good for the first test, which begins on the Basin Reserve tomorrow at eleven o’clock, and continues on Monday and Tuesday. All the members of the New Zealand team arc in Wellington with the exception of Rountree, who has been replaced by W. J. Condliffc- (Hutt). Much disappointment is expressed by the change in view of Rountree’s brilliant display in the Plunket Shield match. Both teams arc indulging in practice. The M.C.C. team were yesterday the guests of Mr. lan Duncan at Waikanae. The English team will not be picked till the morning of the match, but it is understood the professionals will play. AN INDIAN M.C.C. Delhi, Dec. 28. It is proposed to establish in India a central controlling cricket authority like the Marylebone Club in England and the Melbourne Club, in Australia to further international contests, also to commence county cricket in India. There will be a big conference at Nagpur in the middle of January.
