During the height of a game for high baccaret stakes at a Montpellier gaming hall at 2 o'clock in the morning, the doors were thrown open, revealing two wild-looking Spaniards, who covered the company with revolvers and ordered them to “Hands up!” Simultaneously two other Spaniards, who were participating in the game, stood up, levelling their revolvers at the proprietor, who sprang to the entrance, but was shot down. Pandemonium ensued. players were shot or wounded. The bandits swept up the stakes and fled. All were subsequently captured.—Reuter.
