UNEMPLOYED AT HOME.
THE OUTLOOK BRIGHTER. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 23, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 23. Mr. Bonar Law, who refused to receive a deputation at Downing Street of unemployed demonstrators, who walked from Glasgow andbther centres, received one at Glasgow .yesterday. To the members of the Central Glasgow local deputation of unemployed, he said that, bad as things were, he was convinced we had reached the bottom. He saw signs everywhere of a real revival of trade, unless there was very serious trouble in Europe, of which he was much afraid. He hinted at the resumption of State housing, and would report to Cabinet: “If there is work which really needs to be done, and will ultimately pay, I am willing that the State should lend money in order to deal with unemploy-ment.”—Aus.-N.Z.
