WILD WEATHER AT HOME.
SNOWSTORMS, FLOODS AND WRECKS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received Dec. 24, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 23. Wild weather in Britain continues. Blinding snowstorms and flood® in many districts are being experienced, much wreckage being driven ashore on the Firth of Forth coast. Thousands of fishermen have been, rendered idle. Gales with a velocity of sixty miles an hour are raging on the south coast of England. Vessel® are battling with the huge seas. While docking at Southampton, the Majestic, 55,000 tons, was swept by the force of the wind, and collided with the Berengaria, 52,200 tons. Fortunately neither was seriously damaged. The toll of small shipping is serious. Lifeboats have been continually out. A number of thrilling escapes from wreck-, by coastal boats and trawlers are reported. Rough Christmas weather is expected. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. TWO VESSELS FOUNDER. CREW OF ONE RESCUED. FATE OF OTHER UNKNOWN. Received Dec. 26, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 24. The British schooner Armistice foundered 30 miles off Cape Vincent. The Honor City rescued all the crew. The Maid of Delos, carrying a crew of 26, foundered off Milford Haven during a gale on Saturday. The steamer Great Western, responding to a faint 5.0.5., failed to find trace, 'but a lifebuoy and other wreckage belonging to the Maid of Delos has since been washed ashore at Linney’s Head. The crew’s fate is unknown.
