Messrs. Gordon and Gotch. through Messrs. T. Avery and Son, Ltd., New Plymouth, forward magazines for review as under: “My Magazine” for November i<s now to hand, and appears to be a number of exceptional merit. There are hosts of stories and articles, and the illustrations are very beautiful. Reproductions of famous pictures by well-known artists are grouped under the heading of “The Poetry of this Lovely World as Seen in Pictures.” “The Red Castle of Granada” is an interesting article on the art of the Moors, and it is profusely illustrated throughout with plates of some of the lovely Moorish palaces in Spain. Tn addition there are many tales and colored pictures for the children. and “My Magazine” will have a universal appeal. Many pretty stories of love and romance appear in the “Violet Magazine for October. A story of great dramatic interest is entitled “The Widow of Bachelor’s Creek.” This is a stirring “Wild West” story by Crichton Miln. Many prominent writers of the day contribute interesting stories. There is a further instruction on “How to be Tall, Graceful and Strong.” and the amusing series“ The Flapper's Diary,” by Herself —is continued. “The Violet” continues Aa Xner®ase is popularity issue by issue.
