CORRESPONDENCE.

FORGIVENESS. (To the Editor.) Sir, —How fortunate are the people of Taranaki in their choice of their member for Parliament ! As one who voted for Mr. Bellringer, I think myself, 1 and those others who also voted tliat way, are indeed lucky that he did not, succeed, for I ain sure that even if he is possessed of the divine spirit of forgiveness, the same as Mr. Smith seems to be, he would not be sport enough to scatter it to all and sundry. What a happy man must that “person,” the Rev. Howard Eljlott, be to know that he Is forgiven by this sporting M.P., for the malicious mis-statements he made in New Plymouth, for, of course, there would be enough of this forgiveness to spare a little bit for even him.—l am, etc., ONE OF THE FORGIVEN.
