THE RAND REVOLT.

SIX MEN ACQUITTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Capetown, Dec. 19. The Labor Party has addressed a letter to the Governor-General requesting him to exercise his prerogative in the direction of not appointing any further special erimin* courts for the trial of offences committed during industrial disturbances, withdrawing the cases already pending from the venue of such courts, restoring the ancient right of trial by jury, and commuting the death sentences passed by the special courts. Six of the nine tried, charged with the Brakpan murders during the revolution, have been discharged. Three have been sentenced to death, with a recommendation to mercy.
