Up to this evening there is no change in the political position, but the result of the Oamaru recount is being awaited with a good deal of interest, as the seat has appeared to be in the balance from election night onwards. Mr. Macpherson’s margin is stated to be a little over 20 votes, and it is stated there is still a possibility of a change in the figures, the final result being awaited with eagerness. Oamaru, Last Night. The Oamaru magisterial recount has been proceeding since this morning before Mr. Bundle, S.M. Enquiries made /just before midnight elicited the reply that no announcement could be made.
