A CLOSE CONTEST.
MARGIN IN OAMARU SEAT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Up to this evening there is no change in the political position, but the result of the Oamaru recount is being awaited with a good deal of interest, as the seat has appeared to be in the balance from election night onwards. Mr. Macpherson’s margin is stated to be a little over 20 votes, and it is stated there is still a possibility of a change in the figures, the final result being awaited with eagerness. Oamaru, Last Night. The Oamaru magisterial recount has been proceeding since this morning before Mr. Bundle, S.M. Enquiries made /just before midnight elicited the reply that no announcement could be made.
