A FINAL REPLY.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—l wish to compliment "A New Zealand Digger" on some of the sentiments expressed in his letter of the 7th hast., but these remarks would have come with greater acceptance and force had they been stated in his first letter. "Digger" was most loud in his condemnation of “Rev. Howard Elliott and other puny-minded individuals,” and made rfo attempt to blame the real "trouble-makers,” his own Church’s hierarchy, and many of the Irish priests that have lately been imported into this country, and who are trying to bring the same sort of trouble in New Zealand as exists in Ireland. No, "Mr. Digger," it is only when you are cornered, and the blame unquestionably shown to be entirely attributed to your own church that you come on with all the love and loyalty stunts as outlined in your letter. The Roman Federation was in existence four years before the P.P.A.. and it was because of the arrogant attitude adopted towards the then Minister of Education, and many other political actions which were resented by all those who stand for justice to all sections of the community, that the P.P.A. came into being to counteract the unjust political actions of the R.C.F. The Rev. Howard Elliott is not an imported agitator, but is the esteemed leader of the Protestant. Political Association in New Zealand. He has never made such public insults to the Romanists as Father Kelly has made to the Protestants Rev. Elliott has done more than any other'man in New Zealand to draw attention to the grave dangers existent in this country, | both in the Roman Church and the Protestant Church It is no wonder "Digger” alters his ‘tune when confronted with such unquesttonI able evidence ns to who are the real strife-n-ongers as referred to in my previous letter. Let the Roman hierarchy adopt a proper ana tolerant attitude in this country, and there 'will be no need for a Protestant PHittc.il Association or a Roman Catholic Federation.— I I am, etc., JUSTICE (Published by arrangement.!
