PROGRAMME DRAWN UP. FULL WEEK OF EVENTS. The New Plymouth Band Contest executive met last night. Present: Messrs. H. S. Brookman (in the chair), H. R. Cattley, E. Sole, F. Newell, F. Coleman and ®. Humphries. The programme committee submitted the following programme: Monday, February 26.—Morning, 9 а. (draw 8.45), 9 baritone solos. Afternoon, fall in Egmont Street 12.30. grand reception. Draw 3 p.m., bass drums solos, side drums solos. Night б. 22 quartettes. Tuesday.—Morning, 9 a.m. (draw 5.45) 21 B flat trombones. Afternoon, 2 p.m. (draw 1.45), 11 E flat bass solos. Night, 6.30 p.m. (draw 6 p.m.), first test selection A and B grade. Wednesday.—-Morning, 9 a.m. (draw 8.45) 11 BB' flat bass solos, 1 B flat bass solo, 8 G. trombones. Afternoon, 2 p.m. (draw 1 .45), 9 E flat cornet solos, 8 flugel horns. Night, 6.30 p.m. (draw 6 p.m.), hymn test, own choice. Thursday.—Morning, 9 a.m. (draw 8.45), 19 E flat horn soloe. Afternoon, 2 p.m. (draw 1.45). 17 euphoniums. Night, 6.30 p.m. (draw 6 p.m.), 2nd test A and B grade test selections. Friday.—Morning. 9 a.m. (draw 8.45), ]2 solos (boys under 17 years). Afternoon, 2 p.m. (draw 1.45), 28 B flat cornet solos. Night, 6.30 (draw 6 p.m.), 11 trombone trios. Saturday.—Morning, free. Afternoon, fall in all bands in Egmont Street, 12 noon, military quickstep competition. Night, mass bands. Demonstration concert and presentation of prizes. If it is wet on Saturday night the items set down for Pukekura Park will take place in the Coronation Hall. It was decided to engage the Workers’ Social Hall for the contest week.
