FIRE AT CHRISTCHURCH.

EXTENSIVE DAMAGE CAUSED. By Telegraph.—Press .Association Christchurch, Last Night. A fire to-night completely gutted the billiard table factory of Lutjohann and Co., in Victoria Street, in the city, did extensive damage to the printery of Alex. Wildey, Ltd., and damaged windows in the Salvation Army citadel. The flames had a good hold when discovered, and the brigade had over an hour’s task in gaining control. In Wildey’s premises the upper portion was charred and a large quantity of printing and stationery destroyed, while on the lower floor much havoc was wrought by water. Wildey’s insurances totalled £7600 but no details are available in connection with Lutjohann’s.
