MOTOR-CYCLING.
RELIABILITY TRIALS. Same months ago the Hawera Motor Cycle Club conceived the idea of conducting a reliability trial through Te Kuiti and 'back again during the Christmas holidays. The New Plymouth Club was invited to co-operate, and with the number of entries now in hand the event should prove highly gratifying to all concerned. It is proposed to leave New Plymouth at 8 o’clock on Boxing Day, and run through to Te Kuiti, which should bo reached about 4.30 p.m. on the same day. The outward distances are New Plymouth to Mount Messenger 38 miles. Mount Messenger to Mokau 20 miles, Mokau to Te Kuiti 54 miles. The return trip will be made on the 27th and the finish will be in Hawera between 5 and 6 p.m. The total distance to be covered is 260 miles. • Ar a meeting of the Hawera Motor Cycle Club it was reported that 25 entries were already in hand and it. was decided to extend the tiune during which entries will be received until 21st kist. The secretary reported that a number of valuable trophies had already been donated. Messrs. Claringbold. Davy. Foord and Lysons were appointed a. delegation .to meet die delegates of the New Plymouth Club at Stratford at the earllst possible date in order to make final arrangements for the trial. The Waitomo Club at Te Kuiti is arranging accommodation for competitors, and is providing officials for checking at that end.
