The crowd which overflowed the Town Hall on Friday night on the occasion of the 'Stratford Primary School’s annual concert demonstrated the interest taken by Stratford residents in the education of the young people. The programme submitted by the children was a distinct credit to the school, and reflected careful tuition and painstaking rehearsal. The responsiveness of the pupils and the appreciation shown by the packed house must have been most gratifying to the headmaster and staff of the school after a year’s labor. During an interval, Mr. J. W. Boon (chairman of the committee) expressed thanks on behalf of the committee 'for the splendid work of the staff and the pupils. When Mr. Tyrer left the school, said Mr. Boon, it was not thought possible to adequately fill his place, but he believed in the present headmaster (Mr. L. J. Furrie) they had the right man. The programme was opened by an overture by Miss M. Curd, and little Gwen Lightband gave a dainty opening speech, invoking the aid of the fairies to make the concert a success.
