TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The usual (monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday, 18th instant. Present: Messrs. H. J. Lowe (chair* man), S. Blake. C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland and J. W. H. Martin. The application of Edward Scarry for section 6, block XL, Mahoc, was approved, and that of Timothy O'Shea for section 12, block IV.. Totoro, was refused. The application of Nicholas Davies for the purchase of the freehold of section 10, block IV.. Plopiotea West, was approved. The transfer of section 5, block VI., O’palcu. from P. Milne to E. P. McCarthy was approved, and that of section 6, block X., Huiroa, from Walter Vickers to C. J. Vickers, was adjourned. The transfer of section 1, block 1., Pioplotea West, from T. S. Tippetts to Thomas Hoult, was reefrred to Wellington for consideration. It was resolved to offer Rangltoto Tuhua 68F, No. 18, 425 acres, on the optional tenure,’ at a rental based on the purchase price; applicants to prove that, they are possessed of £.500 capital. Resolved to consent to a. deviation of the Mangere Road through sections 4 and 6, block XVL, Upper Waitara. It was resolved to offer section 8, block IX., Waro, on optional tenure, weighted with the value of the improvements. The surrender of the lease holding Louisa Harris over section 46, town of Hawera extension, No. 5. was accepted. The transfer of section 7 and 15, block VIII., Mimi, from A. W. Scott to R. Scott, was approved. Twenty-two applications under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Acts were considered, and of these five applications for stock were recommended, two deferred and two refused; two house applications were refused; four applications to transfer were recommended.
