LNREGISTiERED FIRE-ARMS. By TeDgrapli.—Press Association. Wellington. December 14. John Angland. a ship’s fireman, was charged with pointing at another man a revolver, which he claimed he liad found. He also carried a seaman’s discharge in a name not his own. which he also said he had found. He was fined £5, and also imprisoned for one month for carrying a revolver and being in possession of unregistered fire-arms. EDUCATION BOARD’S PROTEST. Wellington December 14 The Education Board had a discussion on the practice of the Government in making amendments and framing regulations without first consulting the boards. The Director of Education had informed the board that no definite undertaking could be given to consult it. All the amendments were confidential. Strong objection was expressed to lhe official attitude and a resolution passed to consult other boards as to joint action and to inform the Government that legislation affecting the boards should iUe submitted to them.
