NEW ZEALAND’S RESOURCES.

FOSTERING DEVELOPMENT. CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE MOVE. With the object of fostering the development of New Zealand’s mineral resources, the Associated New Zealand Chambers of Commerce has forwarded the following resolution to the various chambers: “That this conference approves of the proposal for a comprehensive movement involving the sending of a commission to England to secure British capital for the development of the extensive and valuable untouched resources of the Dominion, such as iron, copper, asbestos, marble, pigments, alloys, etc., the mission to be financed by the parties interested.” The circular was forwarded to the Stratford Chamber by the Hawera Chamber, which was of the opinion that Stratford should have valuable information as to the coal supplies in interior Taranaki. The Hawera Chamber was prepared to support Stratford on any representations made. The matter was left in the hands of the chairman to communicate with the Taranaki Chamber and reply to the Hawera Chamber.
