SERVICE ARRANGED. AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND. NO FURTHER DELAY. By Telegraph.—Pr«M Assn.—Copyright Received Dec. 13, 9.50 p.rn. Sydney, Dec. 13. The Union Company has announced that it has now arranged for a full service between Australia and New Zealand by means of voluntary labor. The company states there will bo no further delay. The Whangape will not leave till Thursday, owing to loading operations. The former members of the Moeraki’s crew have been released after serving their sentences. They refused to express an opin : oa on the dispute. MOERAKI AT AUCKLAND A VOLUNTEER CREW. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Moeraki arrived from Sydney to-day with 276 passengers and the largest cargo carried by an intercolonial vessel for many months. The steamer was originally scheduled to sail on November 9, but trouble arose over replacing three stokehold hands who were paid off. The stokeholders refused duty and were arrested and sentenced to ten days’ imprisonment. Then 172 passengers and mails were di» embarked and the remainder of the crew stayed on board the vessel in the stream Last week volunteer stokehold hands wer< engaged, but the deckhands refused to sail with them. The deckhands were arrested and sentenced to seven days” gaol. Their places were taken by volunteei seamen, mostly unemployed Britishers, who were kept in readiness.
AUCKLAND MEN CHARGED.
Auckland, Dec. 13. The Police Court was occupied with breaches of the award against 51 seamen, arising from their recently quitting work The cases dealt with concern four (men from the Kaituna, eight from the Kurow. and five from the Ngapuhi. The cases will last all day and an adjournment is asked for to enable certain witnesses to give evidence.
