PLUNKET SOCIETY.
ELTHAM BRANCH. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Eitham Plunket Society was held on Tuesday last, and was attended by Mr. G. W. Tayler, Mesdames Hawken, Hadyn, Northover, Martin, Misses. Sims, Ware, Foord and Drayton. The accounts in connection with baby day showed a nett profit of £3l. The secretary was directed to write to the Borough Council for an extra picture night to augment the funds. It was suggested that the plunket room be opened on the Friday before Christmas to enable mothers to do their shopping, two of the committee to be in attendance. Subscriptions were paid by Lady Carneross, Mesdames McGarry and Miss Sims. The report of Nurse Ewart is as follows:
Number of cases on books, 147; number of babies on books, 144; new cases, 11; number of mothers to home, 94; number of babies to home, 82; nurses’ visit to homes, 35.
