Now that the excitement of the election is over the public will be fully occupied in preparing for Xmas requirements. The buying of gifts, new clothes, travelling gear and housebo d drapery etc., is a matter which should be taken in hand at once. An auction sale of unusual interest is advertised in this issue. On Wednesday, December 20, Webster Bros, are selling, on account of the Taranaki Pictore Framing Co. (whose premises were recently sold) the whole of their large stock of framed pictures. The sale is entirely without? reserve. In view of the fact that a half-holi-day was held on Thursday (election day), the retailers of New Plymouth will remain open until 6 p.m. this evening.
