Sydney, Dee. 6. Light, soaking rain throughout the State has ended the dry spell. It is one of the best falls experienced for months past, and there are indications of its continuance. GEN. Over SOO shareholders of Bawra attended a meeting to consider the proposal by Sir John Higgins that the organisation be extended for handling primary products. Dr. Kater mdved an amendment that the association be wound up. The amendment was carried by 000 votes to 20. Sydney, December 7.

The Supreme Court has commenced the hearing of a claim by Dr. Thompson against the New South Wales branch of the British Medical Association for £5OOO damages on the ground of alleged defamation. The proceedings are the sequel to Dr. Thompson s expulsion from membership of the association which followed his connection with the case of Mrs. Farr. Brisbane, December 7. The Premier has announced that the Government will advance 3d. per lb. on ratoon cotton and will store the crops for growers until a mancet is found.
