There were intermittent bursts of cheering as the results came to hand, but no rowdyism Abroad, the crowd being quiet and orderly. Mr. O. Hawken, the successful candidate, thanked all his supporters and his committee, and called for cheers for his opponent. Mr. Astbury, in thanking his supporters, said he was more sorry for them than himaelf. The spirit of Liberalism was still alive, and he hoped to see the seat Liberal yet.
