AEROPLANE DISASTER.
TWO PLANES CRASH IN FLAMES. SIX MEN KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Received December 7, 5.5 p.m. New York, Dee. (J. At Norfolk, Virginia, two officers and four privates were killed when a pursuit plane piloted by Major Gearheart collided with a Martin bomber piloted; by Captain Doyle in a crash three hun-< died feet above the Langley flying fields Three men were killed by the fall and the others were burned to death. Captain Doyle, with four men. was leading a formation of five bombers and was just taking off when Major Gearhurst’s plane headed into the group. It is believed his steering gear went wrong. Four bombers averted a collision by suddenly mounting, but a fifth met tha plane head on, both machines crashing in flames. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
