BOXING.

THE CARPENTIER-SIKI FIGHT. AN ALLEGED FRAME-UP. DENIED BY CARPENTIER. THREAT OF PROSECUTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 9.25 p.m. Paris, Dec. 5. Daigne, protesting to the deputies against the disqualification of Slid, alleged it was arranged, prior to the match against Carpentier, that Siki should go down in the fourth round. Slki consented, because he was told he would get plenty of money for a little training. ■ Tn the second round, hearing the crowd cheer Carpentier, Siki suddenly realised he was die better man, and lie decided 4o go In and win, despite his manager’s warning of his arrangement. The Boxing Federation threatens to prosecute Daigne unless he can substantiate his accusation.

Carpentier, interviewed, said that Siki must have been drunk when he made the allegations. "T was out to beat him. I believe he ought to beat me, but the idea of any kind of frame-up is ridiculous.

STATEMENT BY BENNISON. ALLEGATION RIDICULED, NO PLACE IN RING FOR SIKI. Received Dec. 6, 9.30 p.m. London, Dec. 5. Mr. Bennison, one of the judges of the Carpentler-Siki boxing match, writing to tne Daily Telegraph, says that Siki’s new allegation is on ail fours with his conduct since the match. He adds: ”1 do not believe that either Carpentier or Deschamps would make such a prior .arrangement. I do know that Carpentier, knowing that Siki was only a freakish, wild man. did not train seriously. After the first round I felt that if Carpentier had taken himself seriously he could have won in record time. The difference between the men is so great that everyone tittered. With those who shouted that the fight was a fraud, owing to the inequality pf the contestants, I agreed. Carpentier has since told me he felt that if he had done the prbper thing and knocked out the nigger immediately, there would hove been a. riot on a large scale. Carpentier therefore toyed with Siki until he received a dip on the jaw, from which he never recovered. That is the whole story of the fight.

"As I said before, a fight with Siki is insufferable. The nigger Is a. second .Tack Johnson in every particular. There Is no place for him in any ring.”
