NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. LAST EVENING’S MEETING. The second evening meeting of the season was held under the auspices of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club at the Pukekura Park sports ground last evening. Several events were decided, in all of which there were large fields. The officials were: Starter. Mr. W. H. Moyes; handicapper and tinne-keeper, Mr. L. B. Webster; marksman, Mr. A. W. Diprose; judges, Messrs. E. Jackson and Les. Andrew. Results:— 75 Yards Open.—N. G. Smith (7yds) 1, ,T. D. Mackay (syds) ’2, H. Brown (4yds) 3. Time, 8 3-sseo. 220 Yards Open.—N. G. Smith (13yds) 1, J. D. Revell (14yds) 2, K. Elgar (9yds) 3. Time, 24 l-ssec. One Mile Open.—D. M. .Tillett (90yds) 1, L. W. Lovell (25yds) 2, E. G. Smith (30yds) a. Time, 4min. 53 l-ssec. Primary Schools’ 100 Yards.—First heat: Taunt 1, Gilmour 2. Robson and Warner dead heat 3. Time, 11 4-sscc. Second heat* Sampson 1, Grover 2, Fletcher 3. Time, 12 sec. Final: Taunt 1, Gllmiour 2, Sampson and Grover dead heat 3. Time. 11 4-ssec. Next Tuesday evening the Tollowing events will be run off: 150 yards primary schools, 220 yards secondary schools, 50 yards dash (open), 440 yards open, 300 yards open. Entries close with Mr. L. B. Webster ;:r noon on Saturday, the fee to cover all three open events being Is.
