Sir,—Ever since Mr. Hawken’s Kaponga meeting I have been watching the papers in the hope that somebody would record their protest about the impertinent questions that were asked the candidate on that occasion. I refer to the question about Prohibition. Whilst I agree witfi the questioner that candidates should be consistent in their attitude to Prohibition, I think the question asked was very impertinent and am astonished that nobody has taken the matter up—l am, etc., D.M.C.
