CHRISTMAS NUMBER.

ENTRIES CLOSE TO-NIGHT. (Entries for the competitions being held in connection with the Christmas number of the Taranaki Daily News close to-night. The great interest aroused has been indicated by growing batches of entries received by the mail during the last few days, and very keen competition is promised in every class. From some letters received last night it appears some of the school children entering for the eesay competitions have a mistaken idea as to what the closing of entries means, as they have simply given their names as competitors. The closing of entries to-night means that the actual entry should be in by to-night, but in the case of these children only, the time will be extended till Friday night.
