INCREASED RETURNS LAST WEEK. YESTERDAY’S HEAVY TRAFFIC. The working of the New Plymouth trams shows an increase in passengers and revenue for the week ending last night. The passengers totalled 35,484 and the revenue amounted to £387 4s 9d, chowing an increase of 737 passengers and £24 9s 7d in revenue when compared with corresponding week last year. Good days on the trams were experienced throughout the week, Monday topping tlhe list with 5947 passengers, while Saturday’s travellers numbered 5870 and Friday’s 5336. An exceptionally busy day w r as experienced yesterday, the attraction at the port calling for the use of six cars to cope with the traffic. The passengers carried totalled 4689 and the revenue £62 4s Id, compared with about two thousand and £3O for an ordinarily good Sunday. Details of last week’s returns are:— Passengers Revenue
