THE PRIME MINISTER.

ACTIVITY IN THE CAMPAIGN. ANOTHER TRIP TO AUCKLAND. (By Wire —Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. The Prime Minister made a very brief stay in Wellington. He returned from Hawke’s Bay yesterday, spoke at Lower Hutt in the evening and left for Auckland by the express to-day. He is going to address meetings at Otahuhu and other points before he comes south again about the end of next week. Mr. Massey is working exceedingly hard at the present time. He is covering more ground and addressing more meetings than any other man engaged in the election contest, and at the same time he is attending to many tasks that devolve upon him as Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, but he appears to be carrying his burden quite lightly. He spoke for over two hours at Lower Hutt last night and was abroad early this morning in order that he might spend several hours in his office before Jeaving for Auckland. He stated to-day that he was feeling fit and fully capable of doing all the political fighting that his opponents might require of him. He was cheered by very many evidences of the electors’ approval of the policy and the administration of the Reform Government.
