Vital statistics gazetted to-night show that the births in the fifteen _ urban areas during October totalled 10<4, and the deaths 4513 (males 252 and Temaiea 2311. The proportion of births to ons thousaml of population was l.iO, and deaths 0.8-7. Sixty-eight deaths were of children under five years.
