PILLAGING ON WATERFRONT.

HARBOR EMPLOYEE CHARGED. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. By Telegraph-—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In the waterfront ease in which John Madson, formerly an employee of the Harbor Board, is charged with the theft of various articles of a total value of £•208, accused was committed for trial, bail in £3OO being allowed. It was stated in evidence that when the police arrived at the store to search for goods a man hurriedly left. When detectives visited Madson’s home they found tlie man there and a large quantity of goods of various descriptions were found at the home, a whole vanload. At the detective office, after his arrest. Madson, in reply to questions, said some articles were crook, but net all. He reiused to say where the goods came from. He also said he hoped someone else would come forward to take his share of the blame.
