SHIPPING RELIEF.
THE CORINNA TO RESUME. KAHIKA WITH FLOUR. The shipping deadlock, as far as it affects the coastal trade to New Plymouth, now bears a much brighter aspect. k News was received yesterday that the Corinna, which has been detained at Dunedin for nearly a week, is to leave that -port to-day for New Plymouth and Nelson, manned by a volunteer crew. This will ensure adequate supplies -of food-stuffs being despatched to this port and should remove any apprehensions as to a shortage in necessary commodities. The Kahika, which left Wellington at 5.15 on Wednesday evening, with flour and other supplies, had not put in an appearance by dusk last evening. Her passage would probably be slower than usual owing to the fact of her having a scratch crew, and to the thick weather. She should be in port early this morning. PAGE 4.
