BRITAIN PAYING INTEREST. ROUMANIA CANNOT PAY. By Telegraph.—Press’Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 14, 10 p.m. Washington, Nev. 13. It ia announced that Britain will pay tka second 50 million dollars interest on het war debt to the United States on November 15. This is calculated at the rate ot 5 per cent., and therefore an adjustment is expected since the American Debt Commission was authorised by Congress to refund the Allied debts at the rate of 41 per cent. Mr. A. Mellon (Secretary of the Treasury) conferred with the Roumanian Debt Commission, which declared that Roumania was unable to nay her 41 million dollar debt to the United States for five years, but every effort will be made to give the United States’ debt preference.—Aus.-N.Z.
